Summary Hosting Verified is building a hosting review + directory platform on WordPress. We're replacing our current dev resource and need a developer who can take over an in-progress build, deliver clean changes, and hit UI requirements properly (not "near enough"). We're actively preparing for funding from Q1 2026. If that lands, and your delivery is consistently strong, we'll increase your rate based on performance and reliability. Current stack (relevant only) • WordPress • Kadence Plus • GeoDirectory + UsersWP • bbPress Responsibilities • Implement layout/UI changes in Kadence templates and blocks • GeoDirectory work: directory pages, listings, search, filters, archive + single layouts • UsersWP work: user profile pages and related UX • bbPress styling/integration so it matches the main site • Debug styling mismatches (typography weights, link states, spacing, global styles overriding specifics) • Fix issues properly (root cause, minimal regressions) Requirements • Strong WordPress theme customisation (templates/hooks/child theme, clean CSS) • Kadence experience (Plus preferred) • GeoDirectory and/or UsersWP experience in a real project (not just "installed it") • Strong QA habits and ability to work within an existing build without making it fragile Huge plus • Graphic design / UI design experience (strong eye for spacing, typography, visual consistency) Nice to have • bbPress customisation/styling • Directory/filter UX experience (sidebar filters, results layouts) Working process • Jira is mandatory: all work is ticketed with acceptance criteria • Keep tickets updated (To Do → In Progress → Review/QA → Done) • Leave clear Jira notes on what changed + any blockers/risks • Prefer staging-first changes where possible If you've got real Kadence + GeoDirectory experience and you're the type who debugs properly, documents changes, and ships clean work without drama, we'd like to hear from you. Please answer the screening questions in your proposal - applications that skip them won't be considered.
