I need an AI assistant that sits inside my WordPress site and answers customer-support questions through the OpenAI ChatGPT API. In this first phase the bot only has to handle basic troubleshooting and, whenever it cannot help, show an “Escalate to human” option. Future phases will layer in payments and then a full live-video hand-off plus Twilio email/SMS and a database, so the code you write now must be modular and easy to extend. Core deliverables for this milestone • A lightweight WordPress plugin (or shortcode) that embeds the chat widget. • Secure server-side calls to the ChatGPT endpoint, returning responses in real time. • Prompt engineering focused on basic trouble shooting of issues and escalation to a live person. • An escalation trigger that I can later connect to a video-chat provider (I’m open to your suggestions). • Simple admin screen for the API key, system prompt and theme colours.
