Architectural style • Emphasis on classic, symmetrical lines rather than modern minimalism • Pitched roof, generous overhangs, and open-air circulation reminiscent of southern garden pavilions • Visible timber framing and stone anchoring points that echo the Blecken Pavilion’s charm Material usage I want wood to serve as the primary structural and finish material—think exposed beams, rafters, and ceiling boards—paired with natural stone for columns, knee walls, and the hearth area. No steel or contemporary composites unless absolutely required for code compliance. Scope of work & key deliverables • Schematic concept showing overall massing and proportion • Detailed floor plan, roof plan, and elevations (PDF + editable CAD/Revit files) • Material schedule specifying wood species, stone type, and finish treatments • 3D perspectives or renders that communicate look and feel • A concise set of construction notes suitable for a general contractor Acceptance criteria A design review will be considered complete when the drawings match the traditional proportions of the Blecken Pavilion, feature the agreed-upon wood/stone palette, and include enough detail for a builder to price and permit the project.
