Key features to land in the first release 1. User profiles with editable avatars, bio, and privacy controls. 2. Real-time or near-real-time messaging between users (WebSocket or long-polling are fine as long as latency stays low). 3. An activity feed that aggregates posts, likes, and follows with efficient pagination. Data should sit in PostgreSQL or a similarly mature relational database, but I’m open to a brief discussion if another store suits the use case better. Every commit needs meaningful comments and unit tests; I care as much about maintainability as I do about shipping quickly.
