I have a partly-completed SketchUp model of a mountain hay barn: the desired foundation, framing, roof and exterior trim are already in place. What I still need is the full round of finishing touches so the model is ready to present to a general contractor. I will share the existing SketchUp file at the outset. Here’s the scope I’d like you to tackle (I will provide some additional details/ideas about locations for new elements etc. upon start of project): • Exterior window and door placement that fits the existing mountain-style façade. • Interior window and door placement that feels coherent with the exterior arrangement. • Skylights on S. exposure roof as described in more detail later. • Interior doors, partition walls, floors, complete the stairs and railings, plus associated trim and mouldings detailed right in the SketchUp file. We’ll share locations and general idea of preferred dimensions and any specific hardware or material references once we start, but the overall aesthetic should stay consistent with the rustic Rocky Mountain timber frame barn look already visible on the exterior. Deliverables Updated, well-organized SketchUp (.skp) model with the above elements fully integrated and grouped/layered logically. May involve some fairly minor clean-up of existing model :). Acceptance criteria • All new geometry is clean, properly grouped, and free of stray lines or reversed faces. • Windows, doors, and skylights do not clash with existing framing and siding. • Materials and finishes match the barn’s exterior style. • The model as drawn can ultimately be provided to a general contractor for the project. If you’re extremely comfortable detailing in SketchUp and understand mountain barn or timber frame/lodge architecture, let’s wrap this model up.
