I need a developer to create a basic tool that: Reads Playbill PDF files Extracts the cast list (actor → character) Saves it into a MySQL database Autocompletes theater names using my existing Joomla theater table Lets me manually add simple YouTube video links Displays basic pages for shows, actors, and theaters This is a small Phase 1 foundation build, not a full website. Future enhancements will be separate projects. What Needs to Be Built (Straightforward Tasks) 1. PDF Cast Extraction (Simple Text Pull) From uploaded Playbill PDFs, extract: Show name Theater name Actor names + character names A simple PDF text reader is fine (PHP or Python). No advanced AI or OCR required. 2. MySQL Database (Simple Structure) Create 4 lightweight tables: shows actors roles (actor ↔ character) videos (just storing YouTube links) Tables must be clean and easy to expand later. 3. Theater Autocomplete (Read-Only) My Joomla website already has a list of theaters. Your job is only to: Connect to that table Pull theater names Autocomplete the theater field in our new tool No editing or modifying Joomla required. 4. Basic Admin Panel (Very Simple) A small internal dashboard to: Upload a PDF See extracted cast info Edit or correct names Add a YouTube video link to a show This can be basic Bootstrap — no fancy UI needed. 5. Simple Public Pages (Basic Display Only) Create lightweight pages for: Show (with cast list + any YouTube links added manually) Actor (with roles) Theater (with linked shows) Only basic HTML/PHP is needed.
