I have a finished, extremely large .docx manuscript of ergodic fiction waiting to find its life on the web. The domain and hosting are already in my name, yet the site itself is still a blank slate and I do not want to run it on WordPress. What I need now is someone who can take charge of the entire digital-publishing journey—from shaping a creative concept through to a live, stable launch—while respecting the literary complexity of the text. Scope The work stretches well beyond a conventional novel, demanding thoughtful layout, unusual navigation, and a reading experience that rewards exploration. I’m open to proposals for interactive devices, multimedia layers, or advanced search; feel free to pitch what serves the narrative best. Because I have no existing design, you’ll need to craft one that visually echoes the book’s experimental spirit and translates gracefully to phones, tablets, and desktops. Core responsibilities • Break the docx into clean, semantic HTML (or a comparable format) without losing authorial quirks such as marginalia, footnotes, and nonlinear jump-paths. • Design the user interface, typography, and colour palette from scratch, providing mock-ups for approval. • Build and deploy the finished site to my current hosting under my own domain, using any modern stack except WordPress. • Manage milestones, keep me updated, and supply concise documentation so I can maintain the site myself once we go live. If you have a background in digital publishing, a feel for high literature, and the technical confidence to engineer a bespoke reading environment, I’d love to discuss timelines and approach with you.
