# UI/UX Designer — Women's Luxury Occasionwear Brand (Shopify | LA-Based Launch) --- ## About the Brand We're a Los Angeles-based women's luxury occasionwear brand preparing for our DTC launch on Shopify. Our product sits in the **$600+ price range** — think elevated event dressing with a strong editorial identity. The brand aesthetic is polished, feminine, and intentional. We have a Shopify developer already in place handling the technical build. What we need now is a **senior-level UX/UI designer** who can take the site from functional to exceptional — someone who understands that at this price point, the design *is* the sales floor. --- ## What You'll Own This isn't a beautification job. We need someone who thinks like a **designer and a merchandiser** — someone who can drive conversion and tell a brand story at the same time. **Core scope includes:** - Homepage UX storytelling — earning trust and communicating brand identity within the first scroll - Collection page architecture — curated navigation, editorial entry points, product discovery flow - Product Detail Page (PDP) design — with serious attention to size & fit UX, mobile conversion, and AOV optimization - Mobile-first design across all templates (desktop + mobile breakpoints) - High-fidelity Figma files with clean, developer-ready handoff documentation - Ongoing collaboration with our Shopify developer (remote, India-based) to ensure accurate implementation **Post-launch potential:** - New collection drops and campaign landing pages - CRO iteration and A/B testing support - Ongoing retainer for a designer who proves a great fit --- ## Who We're Looking For You have **real, verifiable experience designing for fashion or luxury DTC brands**. You know the difference between a homepage that looks good and one that actually converts a $400 dress shopper. You've solved hard UX problems — size confidence, mobile drop-off, high-AOV hesitation — and you can explain *why* your decisions work, not just what they look like. **You must have:** - 5+ years in UI/UX design with a DTC ecommerce focus - Proven portfolio that includes live fashion or luxury brand projects (Shopify preferred) - Deep understanding of: - Mobile-first conversion flows - PDP architecture for high-AOV fashion - Size & fit UX and its direct impact on returns - Homepage storytelling without relying on copy to do the work - Strong Figma skills and a developer handoff process that actually works - Experience collaborating with remote or offshore development teams **Nice to have:** - Familiarity with Shopify themes (Prestige, Focal, or custom builds) - Experience with brands in the $500+ price - Background at a fashion-focused agency or in-house at a premium DTC brand --- ## How We Work - **Engagement type:** Hourly (preferred) — we want transparency on both sides - **Communication:** Async-friendly with scheduled review checkpoints - **Tools:** Figma for design, Shopify for implementation review, Loom/video for async feedback --- ## How to Apply Please include the following — applications without these will not be reviewed: 1. **2–4 links to Figma and live Shopify stores you've designed** (fashion or luxury preferred) 2. **For each project, briefly explain:** - What UX problem you were solving - What you specifically designed or changed - Any measurable impact — conversion rate, AOV, return rate, bounce rate, etc. 3. **Your hourly rate** Generic applications will not be considered. We read every submission that shows genuine fashion ecommerce experience. --- ## What Makes This a Great Opportunity - Real creative ownership on a brand-new DTC launch — you'll help shape the experience from the ground up - A client who understands that good UX is an investment, not a line item - Potential for a long-term relationship as the brand grows - The kind of work that belongs in a portfolio — a luxury fashion launch done right --- *We're prioritizing quality and proven results. If you've done this kind of work before and you're proud of it, we'd love to see it.*
