Library daily Data feeding and management

Each day I receive a file containing new and updated book information that needs to flow straight into our library catalog without manual touch-ups. I’m looking for a coder who can set up a reliable import routine that reads the file (CSV or XLSX, whichever you find easier to standardise), checks for duplicates, and posts the clean data to our catalogue tables. Scope • Data type: book information only. • Core function: cataloging books—title, author, ISBN, classification, cover image link, plus any extra fields present in the feed. • Input method: import from a file dropped into a watched folder or triggered by a simple upload page. Technical freedom Use Python, PHP, Node, or another mainstream language—just make sure it runs on a Linux server and writes to MySQL/MariaDB. If you prefer an ETL tool (Talend, Pentaho, etc.) let me know. Acceptance criteria 1. A script or small web utility that parses the daily file and loads/updates records in the catalogue. 2. Duplicate prevention based on ISBN (and optionally title + author). 3. Clear log output after every run showing rows added, updated, or skipped. 4. One-click or scheduled execution setup with instructions I can follow. I’m open to future add-ons such as member management or circulation tracking, but for now this project is strictly about book data and cataloging. If you’ve built similar importers or library systems before, share a quick example when you bid so I can hit the ground running with someone experienced.
