A contract role for journalists who have earned their stripes. There comes a point in a journalist’s life when the work is no longer just about a byline. It becomes a calling. A responsibility. A commitment to tell the stories others hesitate to touch. We are looking for a seasoned investigative journalist who has already proven they can sit in the discomfort of hard conversations. Someone who understands that truth does not reveal itself to the timid, and that uncovering the human impact behind fraud or greed requires patience, courage, and a well-honed craft. This position is not for beginners. Not for reporters who shy away from cold calls. And not for writers who hope stories will simply fall into their laps. This is for the professional who knows how to do the real work. More than 52 cases await the right journalist. Each one demands rigor, discernment, and the ability to follow a thread until it becomes a story that can stand on its own. ⸻ What This Role Demands * Relentless curiosity. You know how to ask the difficult questions with respect and precision. * Cold-calling stamina. Your commitment to accuracy is unwavering. * Narrative intelligence. You can take raw interviews, documents, and fragments of truth and shape them into a compelling, fact-anchored story. * Dependability. You deliver what you promise, and you meet deadlines without hand-holding. If any part of the above gives someone pause, this role is not for them. If it feels like home, they may be exactly who we’re looking for. ⸻ What You Will Be Doing * Conduct structured outreach to individuals central to each case. * Email, call, and follow up until interviews are properly secured. * Cross-reference accounts, identify patterns, and verify the credibility of information gathered. * Write stories that reflect depth, care, and the seriousness these cases deserve. * Maintain full independence and professional judgment throughout the project. ⸻ Compensation Designed for Professionals Each assignment follows a milestone-based structure: * $300 upon accepting the assignment and initiating outreach. * $300 after completing all interviews and submitting your notes. * $300 upon publication of the final article.
