Overview -------------- Galsie is a smart home startup dedicated to streamlining the adoption & configuration of smart home systems through intuitive interfaces, data-driven suggestions, and adaptive assistance. We're primarily a software company (with hardware as a secondary focus), building an integrated ecosystem of services and tools that work together to deliver a next-level smart home experience Position ------------ We are currently seeking iOS Software Engineering Freelancers with exceptional expertise in Swift & SwiftUI to ensure Galsie's iOS Application is responsive across all screen sizes ranging from 300px to 1150 px (mobile & tablet) - in landscape & portrait. Background --------------- The app is currently designed & developed for the 400px screen size (mobile), you'll need to put your best effort (through assessment, research & asking questions) to ensure the app looks good as the screen size increases. Note that we have breakpoints at the following screen sizes: 300px 400px 600px 700px 1000px 1150px Additionally we already have systems in place that automatically vary margins & fonts as the screen size increases. Responsibilities ------------------- - Participate in adopting the UI of Galsie's iOS application across all screen sizes. - Test & Fix UI issues across varying screen sizes, and in split screen mode on tablets. - Use the baseline Figma designs for the 400px screen size as a reference to guide implementation of the user interfaces across all screen sizes. - Research design standards for how the UI should adapt from smaller to larger screen sizes (eg. Bottom navbar on mobile, sidebar on tablet, etc..) - Raise questions & concerns when there are UI issues OR multiple options for adopting the design into a larger screen. - Report observed usability or design issues whether related to responsiveness or other design/interaction considerations. - Ensure consistency of designs across Android & iOS through collaborating with product designers & Android developers. - Follow our code style, standards & guidelines for adopting across all screen sizes (we have systems in place that allows convenient adoption). Required Qualifications ---------------------------- - 4+ years of experience developing iOS applications - 3+ years experience in Swift - 2+ years of experience in SwiftUI - Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and clean code practices. - Ability to build well-architected, scalable, and reusable SwiftUI components - Proficient in applying the MVVM architectural pattern - Comfortable navigating large, evolving codebases and contributing clean, maintainable code. - Proficient with Git, and collaborative software development. Strong verbal and written skills, and proficiency in English. Additional Preferred Qualifications ----------------------------------------- - Proficiency with native iOS APIs and platform-specific features. - Experienced in integrating UIKit components into SwiftUI - Familiarity with concurrency, multi-threading, and dispatch queues, and how to debug & resolve related issues. - Ability to understand Jetpack Compose code (for the sake of adopting Android code into iOS) Work Hours, Availability, and Compensation ---------------------------------------------------- - Position Type: Freelance - Working Days: Monday to Friday + Saturday - Office Hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Beirut time) - Work Hours: Flexible, provided your daily tasks are done. - Availability: Must deliver work and be reachable & responsive during office hours to collaborate & get support team from other team members - Compensation: $300–$400 USD/month, based on experience and performance - Expected Freelance Duration: 2 weeks - 1 month - Note: $50-$100 bonuses if work was completed at a faster pace than anticipated.
