I have high-resolution 3D point cloud data (PLY format) of several concave surface features in granite. I need a computational geometry / data analysis specialist to perform precise geometric fitting and curvature evaluation. Scope of work: • Manually isolate selected concave regions (I can indicate approximate areas if needed) • Extract cross-sectional profiles • Perform least-squares circle fitting (2D profiles) • Optionally perform sphere fitting (3D surface patch) • Calculate for each feature: • Estimated radius (R) • Residual standard deviation or RMS error • Goodness-of-fit metric • Provide plots and numerical output This is not a 3D modeling task. It is a geometric and statistical surface analysis task. The goal is to evaluate curvature consistency across multiple concave features and determine whether they exhibit stable geometric radii. Required experience: • Python (NumPy, SciPy) • Point cloud processing • Least squares fitting • Surface geometry analysis Deliverables: • Radius measurements for each selected region • Residual/error values • Visual plots of fitted curves/surfaces • Short technical summary (PDF) This is NOT a BIM, CAD or architectural modeling task. This is a mathematical point cloud curvature and geometric fitting task.
