I already have a fully functioning script that pulls daily and historical price data. You can see exactly how it works before touching anything. The enhancement is straightforward: keep the same data source, but widen the coverage so the script can also fetch • additional stock tickers I pass in on demand, and • cryptocurrency price data (top coins plus any symbol list I provide). Key goals — Re-use the existing scraping logic wherever possible; I am not interested in switching data providers. — Maintain or improve the current run-time speed once the new endpoints are added. — Preserve the present CSV / JSON output format so my downstream analytics jobs stay untouched. Deliverables 1. Updated, well-commented source code with the new instrument handlers. 2. A brief change log summarising what you touched. 3. A quick demo run (screenshots or sample files) showing fresh crypto and extra-stock data successfully captured. The project should be a comfortable task for anyone familiar with Python, BeautifulSoup / requests or similar tooling; if you prefer Selenium or another approach that still meets the speed target, that’s fine too.
