I am looking for an experienced CAD designer to produce technical fabrication drawings for a custom fireplace surround and base unit intended for installation on a boat. The design is based on a "Standard ECO Hobbit" stove and must integrate a log storage base, a slate inlay, and removable heat shield panels. Key Technical Requirements Modular Construction: The unit must be designed with removable side panels that bolt to the front sections. This is critical to allow the unit to be transported through a small boat door. Material Specifications: The main structure will be high-quality stainless steel. Slate Integration: The top of the base unit requires a 12mm thick slate inlay for the stove to sit on. Marine Safety (Crash Protection): To meet boat safety requirements, the stove feet must be bolted through the slate and fixed directly to the steel frame on the underside to prevent movement during a collision. Clearance & Heat Shielding: The drawings must account for specific distances to combustible materials: Side Clearances: 150mm (or 100mm with specific shielding). Back Clearances: 100mm. The stove will include heat shields on both sides and the back. Stove Dimensions: All designs must fit the ECO Hobbit dimensions provided (Height: 460mm, Width: 302mm, Depth: 355mm). Deliverables Fully dimensioned technical drawings (PDF). CAD source files (e.g., DWG or DXF) suitable for a metal fabricator. Exploded view showing the bolt-together assembly for the modular panels. Ideal Freelancer Experience in sheet metal fabrication or furniture design. Familiarity with heat-clearance safety standards is a plus. High attention to detail regarding bolt-hole alignment for assembly.
