I’m creating GreenThumb, a mobile app that helps city dwellers grow healthier plants with less guess-work. The first release must spotlight comprehensive planting guides—vegetables, herbs, and flowers—delivered in a clean, step-by-step format that adapts to the user’s zone, balcony size, and sunlight profile. Think quick-scan seed-to-harvest timelines, soil and container tips, plus in-app reminders that slot automatically into a personal planting calendar. Beyond the guides, I want basic tracking (photos, notes, growth metrics) and a light social layer where people can form or join gardening groups in their neighbourhoods. Group feeds should make it effortless to post progress shots, swap advice, and arrange informal seed swaps or rooftop meet-ups. Scope • UX/UI design for iOS and Android (a cross-platform stack such as Flutter or React Native is fine). • Backend to serve dynamic guide content and handle group interactions—Firebase, Supabase, or a similarly quick cloud solution is acceptable. • Core features in this milestone: – Location-aware planting guides (vegetables, herbs, flowers) – Personal planting calendar with push reminders – Simple growth tracker (photos + notes) – Neighbourhood gardening groups with post/comment capability Acceptance criteria: • A TestFlight / Android beta build that lets me walk through every listed feature without crashes. • Source code in a private repo, documented well enough for another dev to pick up. • A short README describing deployment steps and how to add new plant guide data. If this sounds like your kind of project, let’s talk timing and your preferred toolchain so we can get seeds in virtual soil sooner rather than later.
