Project Context I’m developing a personal publishing project that merges AI, storytelling, and editorial design to produce personalized travel books. The creative and narrative side is ready: - I already have Prompt Masters (ChatGPT scripts that generate text and image prompts). - I have Word examples of inputs, such as a child profile, detailed itinerary, and assignment logic. - I also have the book layouts designed in Affinity Publisher (with reference PDFs). Now, I need to build the automation system that generates the full book and lays it out automatically — from structured input to print-ready PDF. 2. What I Need I’m looking for one or two professionals with experience in editorial automation and InDesign or Affinity Publisher production. Your job is to design and implement a modular, reproducible workflow that connects content generation with layout automation. Target workflow Word input examples → Structured schema (YAML/JSON) → ChatGPT (Prompt Masters) → Structured JSON output → CSV/IDML (Maybe?) → InDesign Templates → Final PDF 3. Key Responsibilities A. Content Generator (Orchestrator Engine) - Take my Word examples and help standardize them into a structured YAML/JSON input format. - Automate the Prompt Masters to generate all book content (texts, image prompts, metadata). - Support two operation modes: a) Manual: running inside ChatGPT with a single consolidated prompt. b) Automatic: via a Python program calling the OpenAI API. Output: a structured JSON for the entire book (5–15 days, 100–250 pages). B. Data Converter (Structure Preparer) - Convert the generated JSON into CSV or IDML, aligned with template fields. - Ensure perfect field mapping for layout automation. Output: clean CSV/IDML files ready for InDesign. C. Layout Automation (InDesign Filler) - Rebuild existing Affinity Publisher templates in InDesign (.indd/.idml) while preserving style and composition. - Prepare templates for automation: label text/image frames, define styles, set margins and hierarchy. - Implement the automation that fills these templates with JSON/CSV data and exports the complete book as a PDF. - Use InDesign unless Affinity Publisher can be proven to support reliable, scalable automation. 4. Deliverables - A complete, documented system that generates, structures, and lays out a full book (up to 250 pages). - InDesign templates faithfully recreated and standardized for automation. - Scripts or code to: a) Convert Word-based inputs to structured YAML/JSON. b) Generate the book JSON (ChatGPT manual or API). c) Convert JSON to CSV/IDML. d) Populate templates and export PDFs. - Example outputs (JSON, CSV/IDML, and final PDFs for one complete trip). - Clear technical documentation and usage guide. - Full ownership of all code, templates, and files. 5. Ideal Candidate Proven experience in editorial or catalog automation using InDesign (Data Merge or scripting). Strong Python skills (JSON/CSV handling, OpenAI API integration). Ability to replicate layouts from Affinity Publisher into InDesign. Preferably fluent in Spanish (book content is in mainly Spanish). Excellent attention to detail in layout and typography. 6.
