A complete sweep is required: troubleshooting theme code, isolating plug-in conflicts, repairing any database issues, and cleaning up JavaScript / PHP that may be generating notices or slowing server response. Core files must remain untouched; all fixes should be done through the child theme or custom plug-in so future updates remain painless.
