I’m searching for a part-time, US-based freelance Full Stack Software Engineer who can plug advanced AI capabilities—specifically OpenAI models—into our customer-facing products while modernising the underlying backend. The immediate roadmap centres on three priorities: • Bolting OpenAI endpoints into our existing feature set and exposing them through secure, well-documented APIs. • Refactoring our predominantly Python backend so it scales horizontally, runs leaner, and is easier to deploy. • Reviewing database design, API contracts, and server-side performance to eliminate bottlenecks and harden security. You’ll own technical decisions end-to-end, from shaping cloud architecture to writing production code. Expect plenty of autonomy, quick feedback loops, and direct access to the product team. What I’m looking for – Solid full-stack track record with an emphasis on Python (Node.js or similar experience is welcome). – Demonstrated success integrating AI APIs; hands-on familiarity with OpenAI is ideal, though Google Cloud AI or IBM Watson exposure is a bonus. – Strength in database management, API development, and server optimisation. – Clear communicator who can work solo yet collaborate asynchronously. – Must already be authorised to work in the United States. Engagement details This is a freelance, remote-first position for US residents only. Hours are flexible and project-based; we can scope milestones together and set a competitive rate that reflects your expertise. If shaping an AI-enabled, scalable backend sounds exciting, let’s talk about how you can start contributing this month.
