Each user group—opticians, ophthalmologists, and patients—needs its own tailored experience. Opticians must be able to start a case quickly, attach refractive test results or retinal images, and track its progress. Ophthalmologists should review those files, add diagnostic notes, and sign off on prescriptions from any device. Patients, meanwhile, require a clean, mobile-ready portal to view prescriptions, receive notifications, and join video consults. Real-time integration with third-party diagnostic tools (fundus cameras, autorefractors, OCT devices, etc.) is essential so that data flows directly into the right clinical record without manual uploads. High-level requirements include GDPR/HIPAA compliance, modern JavaScript frameworks on the front end (React or Vue preferred), and a scalable backend—Node.js or comparable—capable of supporting video-calling APIs and secure file storage.
