We’re looking for an experienced Python developer to build and iterate on a hosted application that interacts with Polymarket’s CLOB API. The goal is to identify opportunities from market data and execute transactions based on simple, configurable rules. This is an hourly engagement with the potential to evolve into a longer-term partnership if there’s a strong fit. You will build a lightweight Python service that: - Connects to Polymarket’s CLOB (REST/WebSocket) to read markets/order books. - Evaluates simple rule logic (threshold/edge, time-to-expiry, basic custom rules). - Places/cancels orders safely (idempotent requests, retries, basic error handling). - Runs in a hosted environment (your suggestion welcome: Docker + VPS/Cloud is fine). - Emits structured logs and a basic health/metrics endpoint for monitoring. Must-have skills: - Strong Python (asyncio familiarity a plus). - Experience with trading/exchange APIs (preferably order-book based). - Practical knowledge of REST/WebSocket clients and resilient reconnect logic. - Writing clean, testable code and documenting key decisions. Nice-to-haves: - Experience with Polymarket specifically (CLOB, market structure, fees, etc.). - FastAPI/Flask for a small control or health endpoint. - Redis or similar for lightweight state/idempotency. - Docker and basic deployment know-how. How we’ll work: - Engagement: Hourly (please state your rate and weekly availability). - Collaboration: Clear, proactive communication is essential—there will be frequent iteration as the product evolves. Process: We’ll shortlist ~10 candidates, interview ~5, and select 1. A trusted technical advisor will review final candidates. What to include in your application: A brief note on relevant experience (especially exchange/trading APIs). - Links or summaries of 1–3 similar projects (code samples or repos welcome). - Your hourly rate, time zone, and typical working hours. - Your preferred hosting/deployment approach for a small Python service. - A quick outline (5–10 bullets) of how you’d approach Phase 1. We’re moving quickly and will begin reviewing applications as they come in. If you’re excited about building a focused trading tool with room to grow into a deeper partnership, we’d love to hear from you.
