Full signed NDA will be required before interview TECHSFEAR is a startup — but don't let that fool you. We bring 15 years of industry experience to the table and we've built this the right way from day one: structured, documented, and ready to scale. Egos are left at the door. We're looking for someone who brings an open mindset, thrives in a team environment, and is ready to grow with us. This is an inclusive workplace where humility and teamwork are non-negotiable. This role has genuine long-term potential. For the right person, there is a clear pathway to a CTO position as the business scales. We're not just hiring for today — we're looking for a technical leader who wants to help shape the future of the product and the team. We are developing a new social networking platform. We have a fully functional web application built using a modern technology stack, and we now require technical expertise to bridge the gap between our web codebase and production-ready mobile applications for Android and iOS. Current Project Status & Foundation Unlike many early-stage projects, you will not be starting from zero. We have spent significant effort establishing a professional, documented, and automated infrastructure so you can hit the ground running. Ops & Accounts: Centralised Google Play, App Store Connect, and Expo organization accounts are verified and ready. CI/CD & Source Control: GitHub Organisation (Team Plan) established with separate Frontend, Backend, and Infrastructure repositories. Project Management: Jira environment fully configured with roadmap tickets and agile workflows. Architecture: Detailed routing defined for Authentication (Sign In/Up, Onboarding) and Authenticated App flows. Design: Competitive landscape analysis completed and technical diagrams available in Miro. Documentation: Comprehensive setup guides for React Native/Expo on macOS (Homebrew, NVM, OpenJDK 17). Technical Stack React Native, Expo / Expo EAS, Supabase, Tamagui UI, Mapbox, Facetec, Firebase. The Challenge Our application is fully developed and running in the browser (React/Vite + Supabase). Core features like real-time chat, matching, and profile management are live. We initially attempted to use Capacitor to wrap the web app but encountered persistent local environment issues regarding path configuration and native IDE integration. We need an expert to solve this. Your Goal: Take our existing codebase and deliver fully functional, downloadable apps on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Scope of Work Build & Wrap: Convert the existing React/Vite application into native Android and iOS projects. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot current Capacitor build pipeline issues OR recommend and implement a more stable alternative (e.g., React Native Web, custom WebView). Native Permissions: Configure access to Camera, Photo Library, and Geolocation (Mapbox integration) on both platforms. Assets: Implement app icons and splash screens across all device densities. Android Release: Generate signed App Bundles (.aab) and manage submission to the Google Play Console. iOS Release: Build via Xcode, manage certificates/provisioning profiles, and submit via App Store Connect (including TestFlight). Required Skills Strong experience in hybrid app development, specifically converting React web apps into native mobile apps. Proficiency with tools such as Capacitor, Expo, Android Studio (Gradle), and Xcode (CocoaPods). Proven experience publishing apps to both Google Play Console and Apple App Store Connect, including handling compliance reviews. Access to a macOS environment for iOS builds. Ability to work autonomously within a defined technical framework. Leadership & Project Management: Ability to lead technical direction, manage priorities, and coordinate development across the team. Experience with agile workflows and stakeholder communication is highly regarded. Ambition to grow into a senior leadership role — this position has a genuine pathway to CTO for the right candidate. To Apply Please provide a brief overview of your experience and why you would be a good fit. Please also confirm that you have successfully published applications to both the Apple App Store and Google Play and supply links.
