I need a custom-built drone whose sole focus is professional-grade surveying and mapping. The platform must reliably capture georeferenced imagery suitable for orthomosaics, DEMs, and other spatial products with survey-level accuracy. Here’s what I expect from you: • Engineer the airframe and propulsion so it can stay aloft long enough to cover large sites in a single flight, carrying a mapping-class sensor. • Specify and integrate everything—high-resolution camera, flight controller (Pixhawk/Ardupilot, PX4, or a comparable stack), telemetry, RTK/PPK GPS, and any stabilization hardware the workflow demands. • Produce a complete bill of materials with sourcing links, detailed wiring diagrams, firmware parameters, and clear build instructions. • Outline the full mapping workflow: mission planning, ground control point strategy, data capture, and post-processing in tools such as Pix4D or Agisoft Metashape. • Provide a validation plan and, if possible, a small sample data set that proves the finished craft meets the accuracy thresholds we set together. I’m open to your recommendations on extras like obstacle avoidance or endurance extensions—as long as the core goal of precise, efficient surveying and mapping is never compromised.
