This maybe a two stage project. Stage One is: Design two small scale, simple villas for beachfront block of land, and design site plan with layout of villa's, space and features on block of land in Vanuatu. Need an architect or designer who can turn a clear vision into build-ready drawings. Looking for: - two studio style open plan/one-bedroom villas with pool on beachfront plot in Vanuatu. - shed - yoga platform/wedding function space - simple thatched nakamal style with natangora roof. - platform over rocks, leading to low scale, thatched roof (no walls) social pavilion on sand The style I wish to create is minimal, private, barefoot and luxe. Simple designs, focusing on natural ventilation for airflow. Each villa is to have a spacious feel with a dramatic pitched roof that peaks in the centre, with the front section over balcony finished in traditional Natangura. Ideally each villa will be between 50 - 60 sq meters in size, inclusive of small kitchen/kitchenette. Plus balcony and pool. Continuous airflow is critical in our tropical climate, so every space—especially the bedroom and the combined inside/outside kitchen with wet bar—must benefit from true through-flow ventilation. Solid wall structures block airflow so spaces and privacy need to be thoughtfully created without "blocking" air. That kitchen and bar will slide or fold outward onto a 3-4 m-deep covered balcony that overlooks the pool, effectively erasing the boundary between interior and exterior. Idea: 10m x 5.4 or 12m x 5m - Key construction decisions are already set: • Primary structure: cast in-place concrete • Flooring: polished concrete throughout for easy maintenance and thermal mass • Roof: Natangura over a high, central ridge to promote stack-effect cooling What I need from you • Conceptual floor plan showing logical circulation, best wind capture and pool integration • Scaled elevations, roof plan and at least two sections that clarify the roof geometry • 3D massing views or renders that convey the open kitchen-to-balcony relationship • Notes on material junctions (concrete–timber, roof–wall) to ensure buildability in a humid, coastal environment Acceptance criteria Plans must demonstrate a clear, unobstructed cross-breeze through bedroom, living area and kitchen. Covered balcony depth is maintained at 3-4 m, and the roof form peaks centrally then drops symmetrically. Drawings should be delivered in PDF plus editable CAD (DWG or similar). If you’re confident working with tropical, small-footprint villas and can present ideas that balance modern minimalism with local materials, I’d love to see your portfolio and timeline. Additional images of the block of land will be provided.
