I am running a personal research project on how high-profile cybersecurity breaches alter customer confidence in banking institutions, and I want the work to culminate in a small but functional prototype system that visibly demonstrates how better security practices and transparent communication can win that confidence back. Here is the journey I’d like you to guide and execute with me: • Research & analysis: Gather and synthesise the most recent publicly documented data-breach, phishing or ransomware incidents that hit the banking sector, highlight root causes, map the immediate customer reaction, and extract measurable shifts in trust (surveys, churn, sentiment on social media, etc.). • Insight translation: From those findings, isolate the security controls and post-incident messaging strategies that worked best for banks when rebuilding trust. • Prototype build: Use those insights to craft a lightweight, web-based proof of concept—think secure login, visual breach-status dashboard, real-time threat notification mock-ups and clear, plain-language incident reports. The goal is to let a user click through and feel the difference that timely transparency and visible controls make. You are free to lean on modern stacks such as React, Vue, Flask or Node; choose what lets you move fastest while producing clean, commented code. • Evaluation: Recruit a small feedback panel (or run a scenario simulation) and capture qualitative impressions on whether the prototype reassures them. Feed that data back into a concise report outlining next steps. Success for me means: (1) a succinct research dossier, properly cited; (2) a working prototype I can host locally or on a simple cloud instance; and (3) an evaluation summary that ties the two together.
