Hello, I’m looking to hire a developer to build an automated data extraction system from government-provided crime maps. Project scope: Automatically collect data from public/government crime map websites (Canada-focused, but scalable) Extract structured data including: Crime location (address, coordinates, or map pin) Associated business name (when available) Crime type and date (if accessible) Output data into a usable format (CSV, Excel, Google Sheets, or database) Prefer a solution using APIs where available; otherwise ethical web scraping + GIS parsing Ability to rerun on a schedule (daily / weekly) or on demand Technical considerations (open to suggestions): Python, JavaScript, or similar GIS / map data handling (ArcGIS, Leaflet, Mapbox, etc.) CAPTCHA / rate-limit safe approach (no black-hat methods) Clean, maintainable code with documentation Please provide: Estimated cost Timeline Relevant past experience or examples Any assumptions or limitations (data availability, map restrictions, etc.) This is for legitimate research and business intelligence purposes using publicly available data. Thank you, Jugpal Saran
