ANSYS Beam Modal Analysis

I need a detailed modal analysis carried out in ANSYS Mechanical (Workbench or APDL) on a composite beam that is mounted on linear springs at both ends. The study is part of my master’s research, so every modelling choice—from element selection and mesh sensitivity to boundary condition justification—must be fully traceable. Two configurations must be investigated: 1. The bare beam on linear springs. 2. The same beam on linear springs with a centrally-mounted lumped mass (a disc). I already have the exact beam dimensions and material properties for the composite lay-up; I will share them once the project starts. What I require from you is to import or build the geometry, assign the composite stack, model the linear spring supports correctly, and extract natural frequencies and mode shapes for both cases. Deliverables • ANSYS project files (Workbench *.wbpj or APDL *.db) for each configuration • A short technical note (Word or PDF) summarising the modelling assumptions, element types, boundary conditions, mesh convergence check, and the first six natural frequencies with annotated mode-shape screenshots • Any MATLAB, Python, or Excel post-processing scripts you might use to verify the results (optional but appreciated) Acceptance criteria • Frequency results within 3 % of an independently calculated analytical or published reference, clearly documented • Mode shapes visually consistent with beam theory expectations • All settings saved so that I can rerun the simulation without modification If you are comfortable with composite material definitions, linear spring elements, and thorough modal post-processing in ANSYS, I look forward to working with you.
