Description: We are looking for a freelance 3D designer with strong experience in preparing models for 3D printing (SLS, SLA, FDM). The role includes: • Converting drawings / references into 3D models • Optimizing designs for additive manufacturing (DFAM) • Splitting models for printing and assembly • Preparing STL/STEP files for production • Reducing material usage and printing cost Requirements: • Strong experience in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) • Understanding of 3D printing processes (SLS, SLA, FDM) • Knowledge of wall thickness, tolerances, and supports • Experience with STL repair and mesh optimization • Ability to deliver production-ready files (not just visual models) Nice to have: • Experience with Blender or ZBrush (for complex shapes) • Experience with Netfabb, Magics, or Meshmixer • Experience in model making / architectural models Deliverables: • Clean STL + STEP files • Optimized design for printing • Assembly-ready parts (if needed) Important: Please include examples of real 3D printed projects (not only renders). A small test task will be required before selection.
