For my final project, I will create an interactive website titled “Moving Out: Manhattan vs. Weehawken” that explores the decision many recent graduates face when choosing where to live after college. The project will be structured as an interactive comparison experience in which users navigate between two distinct living scenarios: Manhattan and Weehawken, New Jersey. Rather than presenting information passively, the website will guide users through key decision factors including cost of living, apartment space, daily routines, commute, and lifestyle, allowing them to actively engage with the trade-offs of each option. I chose Manhattan and Weehawken because they represent a realistic and immediate post-graduation decision. Manhattan reflects the appeal of living directly in New York City, with high energy but high cost and limited space. In contrast, Weehawken represents a nearby alternative that offers more space and lower rent while still maintaining access to the city. By focusing on only these two locations, the project creates a clear and controlled comparison, making the experience more focused and impactful rather than overwhelming users with too many choices.
