Galactic Pistol Alliance is a growing alliance of competitive shooting clubs. We provide an appealing and unique scoring classification system that has a proven track record with our current clubs. It's time for us to give our GalacticPistolAlliance.com WordPress website a more modern and appealing facelift with enhanced functionality. We are currently seeking a developer(s) for the short-term goals listed below with an opportunity to become a long-term resource as needed. Immediate Short-term goals: - Document and explain a proven methodology to move new pages and functionality from development/staging/testing to production. - Create a searchable member directory based on our specs.The directory will only be available to logged in members. - Create an online store for GPA merchandise. We think WooCommerce is best suited for this but are willing to listen to other options. - Create a user-friendly marketing process for member communications. Constant Contact has been a popular suggestion. Current tools being used or available: 1. WordPress 2. We have licenses for both Divi and Elementor for page building 3. MemberPress for member management 4. Microsoft Access to handle shooter scores and match classifications. The Access data is stored in custom tables within the WordPress database and keys off of wp_users.ID and the connected to Access via table links to the WordPress DB. As matches occur, clubs record their scores in PractiScore and our Access application scrapes the scores from the PractiScore site for further processing. While familiarity with Access would be very helpful, it is not a direct requirement at this time. Ideal skills and experience: - WordPress, MemberPress, and WooCommerce experience - Member email communications, marketing and special announcements that we can manage. - Proven experience with our current tool set (MS Access preferred but not required). We will consider alternatives but would need to assess the cost of changing tools/plugins. - Good communication skills, positive team member, flexibility, and willing to explain how changes were accomplished and or techniques used.
