Track Dropdown Option Usage

I have a survey form on my website that contains just a few (no more than three) dropdown menus. What I need is clear, accurate tracking that tells me how many times each individual option in those dropdowns is chosen. Percentages are not required at this stage; a straightforward count for every option will do. You are free to implement this in the way that best fits standard web analytics practices—whether that is a lightweight JavaScript snippet that posts to a database table, Google Analytics 4 events, or another reliable tracking method. The key requirement is that I can later view or export a simple report that shows “Option A: 123 selections, Option B: 98 selections,” and so on. Please see that the final solution: • Works with the current survey form code without forcing a redesign. • Captures a selection the moment a user makes it (not only on form submission) so I can spot drop-offs. • Provides a quick way for me to review the counts—either a small admin page, a downloadable CSV, or integration into the analytics dashboard you choose. • Is documented well enough that I can extend it myself if I add more options later. Let me know which approach you plan to use, the estimated setup time, and what access you will need from me to get started.
