This project involves engineering a retractable, telescopic tower built from steel that supports surveillance hardware. When fully extended the structure must reach up to 6 m; when stowed it should occupy the smallest possible footprint while remaining rigid enough to withstand wind loads and the weight of mounted cameras, antennas, and cabling. I will supply the external payload dimensions, expected total mass, and any mounting interface details. From there I need: • Solid-model CAD files of each stage and the base assembly • A full set of manufacturing drawings with tolerances and weld symbols • Structural and stability calculations (hand calcs or FEA) showing the tower’s safety factor under wind and live loads • A concise bill of materials including fasteners, bearings, locking pins, and any off-the-shelf lift mechanisms • An assembly guide that highlights erection sequence, maintenance points, and lubrication requirements Please base the mechanical layout on commonly available steel grades and standard tube profiles so local fabrication is straightforward. Telescoping action can rely on nested square or round sections, internal guides, or a cable-and-winch system—whichever you feel delivers the best balance of stiffness, ease of manufacture, and cost control. Corrosion protection suggestions for outdoor deployment (galvanizing, powder-coating, etc.) are welcome. Deliverables will be considered complete once the CAD models open without errors, drawings print at A3, and calculations demonstrate compliance with the design load criteria we agree on at project start. Practical experience with similar telescopic masts, SolidWorks or Inventor proficiency, and the ability to communicate design decisions clearly will make collaboration smooth and efficient.
