I’m kicking off the early New Product Development phase for a new automotive part and need a design engineer who lives in SolidWorks. Your job is to transform broad performance targets into detailed 3D models and physical prototypes that are ready for our in-house testing team. You will own concept development and prototyping. That means turning sketches and envelope constraints into manufacturable geometries, iterating quickly, and preparing everything we need to get the first parts off the printer or CNC. Once the prototype is approved, our internal group will take over for validation, so the hand-off has to be clean and complete. Deliverables I expect: • Native SolidWorks assemblies and fully detailed 2D drawings • STL/STEP files suitable for 3-D printing and machining • A concise build log noting materials, key dimensions, and any design decisions If you thrive on creative problem-solving in the automotive space and can keep pace with rapid iterations, let’s talk.
