I need a custom module for a Shopify store that removes VAT automatically when a VAT-exempt customer places a qualifying product in the cart. The Shopify store is still under development. — Scope and logic • Exemption must depend on two simultaneous checks: the customer is flagged as VAT-exempt (for this the customer most fill a TAX-exemption form and this form should be stored against his/her account on our Shopify store) and that the product carries a specific tag that marks it as zero-rated. If either condition is missing, normal VAT should apply. • The cart and checkout have to update taxes in real time—no manual switch or customer prompt. • The solution should respect all other native Shopify tax rules and keep reports intact. — Preferred approach I’m open to Liquid customisation, a small private app, or a Shopify Functions/Script solution (whichever fits my non-Plus plan best). Code must be lightweight, easily maintained through future theme or Shopify updates, and documented so my team can adjust tags or customer flags without developer help. — Deliverables 1. Fully implemented VAT-exemption logic in the storefront and checkout 2. Short installation & maintenance guide 3.
