About the Project We are creating a video collection for Indian Sign Language (ISL). For this project, we need people who can watch existing sign language videos and record short clips of themselves performing the same signs. What You Need to Do Step 1: Open this Google Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/179y1HmNYnVuzwgPZO0wsKerlAqsqQE5H-1od6QdWNi4/edit?usp=sharing (This is the ISL Word & Video Reference Sheet.) Step 2: Go through the sheet — it contains a list of 7000+ words. Each word has a UID (Unique ID) that links to a specific reference video. Step 3: Download the reference videos from the official dataset here: https://huggingface.co/datasets/Exploration-Lab/CISLR/tree/main/CISLR_v1.5-a_videos (This is the CISLR v1.5-a Indian Sign Language video library.) Step 4: Match the UIDs from the Google Sheet with the videos you downloaded. This will help you find the correct reference video for each word. Step 5: Watch each video carefully and learn how the sign is performed. Step 6: Record 20 short clips (around 3 seconds each) of yourself performing the same sign. That means: 1 word = 20 short videos 2000 words = 40,000 short clips You will need to record for 2000 words, and the exact word range (which words you’ll do) will be provided later. Recording Instructions - Record using your webcam (laptop or desktop preferred). - Each video should be around 3 seconds long. - Make sure your hands, face, and upper body (shoulders upward) are clearly visible. - Use a plain background with good lighting. - Keep your camera steady while recording.
