I need a small utility that takes the Daily Racing Form in PDF format for a chosen date, scans every race at every track, and pulls four pieces of information for every horse: • horse name • number of starters in that race • second-call position • final time With those values the script must run a straightforward (A + B) / C calculation that I will define exactly once the job begins. When the data for all horses is processed, the program should compile everything into a clean, easy-to-read PDF report. Please build the solution so I can drop in new Racing Form PDFs and generate fresh reports without extra tweaking. A Python workflow that uses libraries such as pdfplumber, Camelot or similar is fine, provided it copes with the occasional formatting quirk that Racing Forms can have. Accuracy of the extracted fields is critical; if OCR is required to hit that accuracy, include it. Deliverables 1. Source code with clear setup instructions. 2. A sample run that shows the extracted data and the resulting PDF report for one full day’s card. I will consider the project complete when the sample run matches the numbers in the form and the report opens correctly on any standard PDF reader.
