Every event that I have, I take an average of 30 event orders, pull them apart and chronologically construct a production plan for moving in and setting up an event and moving it out at the end of the event. I would like to drop a text-based Event Order PDF into a dedicated local folder. The moment that file lands, I need an agent to wake up, read the document, and do three things automatically: 1. Pull out the essentials—event dates and times, the title of each order, and the Event Order Number. 2. Duplicate each order so it appears "chronologically" twice in the output: once for the install date and once again for the strike / move-out date. 3. Feed all rows into a single, combined Excel sheet that becomes my Production Plan (this is already formatted and I can send to you for the output), then save and email that file straight to me. That is the entire workflow I want to stop doing by hand. I’m fine with whatever tech stack suits you best—Python with pdfplumber, PyPDF2, Watchdog, or Power Automate and VBA are all acceptable as long as the result is reliable, quick, and easy for me to maintain. The PDFs are pure text, so OCR is not required. Deliverables: • A self-contained script or service that watches the target folder, parses new PDFs, and generates the Excel file in the required layout. • Automatic email dispatch of the finished plan. • Clear setup instructions so I can redeploy or adjust folder paths on my end. I’d like this finished promptly; the sooner I can retire my manual copy-and-paste routine, the better.
