I need a small automation bot that visits my chosen horse-racing website, captures the pre-race “read-ups” or commentary for each meeting, and feeds that text straight into a lightweight Windows desktop programme. The app should present the information as a clean, scrollable text report so I can browse every race’s notes offline without opening a browser. Core tasks • Build a scraper that reliably navigates the site, gathers the read-ups for today’s and future race days, and copes with basic anti-bot measures (pagination, cookies, simple captchas if present). • Store the raw data locally; I’m flexible on format—CSV, JSON or XML all work as long as it’s easy to change later. • Create a standalone desktop application (Python + Tkinter/PyQt, C#, or similar) that reads the stored data and displays it in a tidy text view. Selecting a race should instantly show its commentary. • Include simple controls to refresh data on demand or schedule a daily pull. Deliverables 1. Source code for the scraper and the desktop app. 2. Compiled executable or installer ready to run on Windows. 3. Quick setup/read-me so I can install, point to the target site, and start pulling new read-ups right away.
