Dual-Purpose Packaging Dieline & 3D Visualisation Project Overview: We require an experienced packaging designer to create a detailed dieline and provide high-quality 3D visualisations for an innovative, dual-purpose cardboard packaging solution. This project involves designing a single piece of cardboard that initially functions as a flat mailer and can then be reassembled by the end-user into a protective return box. Key Deliverables: Print-Ready Dieline (Vector Format): A meticulously detailed, accurate, and ready-for-manufacturing dieline in Adobe Illustrator (.AI) or PDF format. Must include all necessary cut lines, crease/fold lines, and perforation lines for a "tear-to-open" strip. Indicate exact placement for two adhesive strips: one for the initial mailer seal and one for the final return box assembly. Clear, industry-standard labelling for all components for a box manufacturer. Material: E-Flute Corrugated Cardboard (approx. 1.5mm thick). Print Specifications: Exterior: Plain matte white with a designated area for a 10x15cm (4x6 inch) address label. Include text "Private & Confidential" in black. Interior: Uncoloured kraft cardboard. Instructional text (to be provided later) showing the folding sequence should be laid out in a designated area, to be printed in a specific gold-coloured ink (e.g., Pantone 871 C or similar). Constraints: The initial flat mailer must comply with Royal Mail "Letter" size maximum dimensions: 240mm (Length) × 165mm (Width) × 5mm (Depth). The weight limit for the empty mailer (before contents) is 100g. The design should maximise the usable cardboard area while adhering to these dimensions when flat. 3D Visualisations (5-7 High-Resolution Images): Outbound Mailer (Flat & Sealed): A realistic 3D render showing the mailer in its initial, flat, sealed state, ready for postage. Showcase the matte white exterior, "Private & Confidential" text, and the address label area. Unfolded Mailer (Interior View): A render showing the mailer fully opened and laid flat, revealing the kraft interior with the instructional text layout. Step-by-Step Folding Sequence: A series of clear, numbered 3D renders (multiple Images) visually demonstrating the conversion of the flat mailer into the assembled return box. Each image should highlight the progressive folding steps. Assembled Return Box: A final 3D render of the fully constructed protective box. Style: Clean, photorealistic renders with good lighting and clear product visibility. Design Considerations & Instructions: The design should optimise for ease of assembly for the end-user. The assembled return box should be sturdy and protective. While the exact final dimensions of the assembled box are flexible, it should maximize the internal volume achievable from the original Royal Mail letter-size sheet, with a target depth of up to 50mm. The return box will be placed inside a C5-sized mailing bag, so its dimensions when assembled can exceed the "Letter" size. The flat mailer will contain a folded C5 polylope and a small transparent pouch (negligible depth). The cardboard design itself must not exceed the 5mm depth when folded. Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in packaging design, specifically with dielines and cardboard structures. Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (or similar vector software) and 3D rendering software (e.g., KeyShot, Blender, Cinema 4D, etc.). Excellent attention to detail and ability to adhere to precise dimensional constraints. A portfolio demonstrating similar packaging projects and high-quality 3D renders. Application: Please submit your portfolio along with a brief explanation of your approach to this project.
