I have a fully classified LiDAR point cloud covering roughly 30 km of rural roadway. I now need that data converted into clean, production-ready Civil 3D files that match our internal drafting standards. Scope • Build a detailed road surface model from the cloud, stripping out noise and vegetation while preserving curb and edge definition. • Generate a comprehensive topographic map with spot elevations and breaklines. • Produce a 3D CAD construction model that includes: – Accurate elevation contours at the intervals you normally use for roadway design – Clearly delineated road markings, lane lines and centreline – All visible road edges, kerbs and shoulder limits Requirements • All deliverables must follow my company-specific layer naming, colour and linetype conventions (I’ll share the template and style guide once we start). • Native Autodesk Civil 3D 2023 (dwg + xml surface) is mandatory; no generic interchange formats alone. • Horizontal/vertical accuracy must stay within the tolerances typical for construction staking; I will validate against independent check shots. • Keep the model georeferenced to the supplied coordinate system so it drops straight into our larger corridor file. Deliverables 1. Civil 3D surface file (.dwg + .xml) representing the cleaned road surface 2. Topographic dwg with layers for contours, spot heights and breaklines 3. 3D roadway construction model with markings, kerbs and edges separated by layer 4. A brief QA report summarising point cloud filtering steps and any data gaps encountered If you’re comfortable extracting precise roadway geometry from LiDAR and can mirror corporate CAD standards without constant guidance, let’s move forward.
