Automated WhatsApp-Shopify AI Integration

My Shopify store uses WhatsApp as the primary contact channel, so I want to link WhatsApp Cloud API with Shopify and layer OpenAI on top. The goal is to let the AI handle customer support and order processing end-to-end while still giving me full control of data and tone of voice. What the bot must do • Instantly answer FAQs pulled from my current product and shipping information • Push real-time order updates (status changes, tracking links) • Detect and resolve basic complaints before they escalate • Act as a sales rep: create draft orders inside Shopify during chat, encourage checkout, and boost conversion Technical outline – WhatsApp Cloud API in production mode with approved templates – Shopify Admin API or GraphQL for inventory, orders, and tracking sync – OpenAI (GPT-4 or GPT-3.5-turbo) for natural language replies, prompt engineering, and fallback logic – Webhook-based architecture hosted on my server (Node.js or Python preferred, but open to other clean, well-documented solutions) Acceptance criteria 1. Live WhatsApp number fully connected via Cloud API 2. Bidirectional data flow with Shopify for inventory, orders, returns, and status updates 3. AI replies in friendly, brand-consistent English (multilingual expansion ready) 4. Simple dashboard or editable file for updating FAQs and promo messages without redeploying code 5. “Human hand-over” command that routes complex issues to a live agent instantly 6. README + short video walkthrough covering setup, environment variables, and maintenance tasks Timelines can be flexible, but I’d like a working MVP quickly so I can begin live testing.
