I have a collection of XR/VR videos (Side-by-Side or Over-Under format) in 2K, originally intended for VR headsets. I need to generate 2D monoscopic preview clips that can be used on a standard website (for video listings and hover previews). The objective is to extract a single eye view or convert the stereoscopic feed into a natural-looking 2D frame while maintaining optimal image quality and aspect ratio. Project Requirements: Input: XR (VR180 or 360) videos in SBS or OU format — MP4, H.264/H.265. Output: 2D single-screen MP4 (480p is fine since I need it in grid preview). Must remove the duplicated eye view and center/crop correctly. Consistent framing across clips (no distortion or stretching). Ability to batch convert multiple files is preferred. If possible, provide an FFmpeg command, Python script, or workflow preset (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar) for future automation. Deliverables: Converted 2D preview clips (one per source file). Documented workflow or script for reuse. (Optional) 5–10 sec trimmed previews for web use. Ideal Candidate: Strong background in video post-production or VR180/360 content. Experience with FFmpeg filters, spatial media conversion, or stereoscopic processing. Able to maintain color accuracy and sharpness during downscale/conversion.
